探索物质世界的利器——同步辐射POWERFUL TOOLS INSIGHT INTO MATTERS:SYNCHROTRON RADIATION

摘要(Abstract):
当近光速的带电粒子在磁场中转向时,沿运动轨迹的切线方向将会发出很窄的电磁辐射,这种高亮度的"光"称为同步辐射.同步辐射的波段范围从THz到远红外/红外,一直扩展到X射线/γ射线,其卓越的性能已经成为探索物质世界强有力的工具,在物理、化学、材料科学、生命科学、医学、纳米科技等领域获得了广泛的应用.本文就同步辐射的发光机制、特点及其应用作了简单的介绍,并结合我们课题组的两个研究实例展示了同步辐射的巨大潜力.
